The Victorian Hotel
The Victorian Hotel is a dark comedy by Angus Oblong. In Victorian England, a young, upper-class couple check into a seemingly innocent hotel for a seemingly innocent vacation. Yet, along the way the dark secrets of the hotel and of the couple's relationship become revealed.
The sound design for this production was focused on building the ghostly atmosphere of the Victorian Hotel for the characters to uncover. This was done through a lot of pre-recorded voice overs with the actors to create a sense of walls that talk. Music was also of importance for transitions in order to inform the audience of where the character's journey was taking them next.
